Emergency Aid
JUF-Federation, its partners, and discretionary funds of synagogues provided sudden-need assistance in healthcare, food, and other necessities for some 25,000 Chicagoans. Nineteen thousand other residents benefited from contributions made to meal programs, food pantries, and gift cards for supermarkets.
Personal Protective Equipment
Improvements to health and safety were made to many institutions, such as Mount Sinai Hospital, which received additional staff and personal protective equipment (PPE). JUF-Federation gifts also enabled the purchase of PPE.
Technical Assistance
Synagogues and other facilities received technical and administrative guidance from several large donors. Organizations received help with employment law concerns, financial planning, and fundraising.
Surveys
JUF-Federation volunteers determined the needs of 325 community service agencies to learn where aid would do the most good.
