The Decalogue Society of Lawyers (DSL) is America’s oldest Jewish bar association. The group's mandate is to advance professional development, provide public education on legal matters, raise bar standards, and guard against discrimination such as anti-Semitism. DSL and the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (AAJLJ) came together to collaborate on “Stronger Together,” an initiative that seeks to boost the presence of each bar association as well as accord their members with a range of benefits and opportunities.
Both being Jewish bar associations, the initiative allows their members to benefit from legal lectures, professional development, and training, as well as activities of both organizations without incurring extra costs. AAJLJ, an East Coast organization, benefits from Midwest exposure, while DSL, a Chicago-based group, gains access to the East Coast as well as key entities such as the United Nations. This initiative hopes to enhance collaboration among Jewish legal practitioners and their counterparts.
