The American Judicature Society is a national, independent, and nonpartisan membership organization that seeks to safeguard the integrity of the American justice system. The organization's membership consists of judges, lawyers, researchers, educators, community leaders, academics, and members of the public. The next AJS National Convention is scheduled for November 22-25, 2020, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The theme of the 2020 convention is “Judicial Independence in the Age of Political Polarization,” which is informed by recent trends in America’s justice system. Topics to be highlighted and discussed include political influence on judicial independence, diversity in the courts, judicial elections and campaign fundraising, judicial accountability, judicial conduct and ethics, and public confidence in the courts. In the sessions, invited guest panelists, legal experts, and active jurists will address the reforms influencing American courts and their impact on the citizenry.
